Suunto Ambit Review

As some of you know I do reviews for iRunfar.com in my spare time.  A few weeks ago, my Suunto Ambit Review went up and I have to say even after the "newness" has worn off, I still find myself reaching for this device a lot.  Sure, its not yet perfect if you are one of those hardcore data junkies that needs to be able to examine every single piece of data this thing captures or you  like the ANT system.  For me, I don't care about that stuff as much. I want the basics and the rest is gravy. Here is my review

Check out the questions and comments under the original artilce for some really great insight into how others are getting along with the device. http://www.irunfar.com/2012/05/suunto-ambit-review.html

Blowout - Rogue Racer

Here are my Montrail Rogue Racers after 121 miles.  As you can see the left shoe has fabric tears.  There is  even a separation from the upper and midsole big enough to get my finger through.

But, I'm not totally dismissing these.  I like the feel and ride of them too much.  I'm hoping maybe I just got a pair with a manufacturing defect.  I'll be swapping them out for another pair at REI today.

Will report back after I rack up some miles.

Do you have Rogue Racers?  If so, let me know if you are experiencing durability issues.

Montrail Rogue Racer - Quick and Dirty Review

I've been crusing in the 8.8 ounce Montrail Rogue Racers for about 2 weeks now.  I've used them for everything.  Winding dirt single track, technical rocky trail, and even road seem to suit the low profile kicks.  I can bomb down hills wilthout any hesitation so even though these are more on the minimal side there is enough underfoot protection to have confidence in them.  While these guys sit closer to the more "supportive"  side of minimal shoes they are light and flexible so you have to rely on your feet and legs to do the work.  I've already wore them for 20+ miles on the trail multiple times. For the official stats and a slick new site design check them out on Montrail.com
